Nutrition plays an essential role in healthy growth

As parents, you know the importance of a nutritious and diverse diet for your child’s growth and long-term development. You know your child needs appropriate nutrition and care to reach his/her potential. At the same time, you might be wondering what exactly constitutes appropriate nutrition.

Where does my child stand in terms of nutrition and growth?

You may be concerned that your 1- to 12-year-old child looks different to other kids of the same age. You may think he/she is underweight, too skinny, too thin, or is not eating enough.

Some kids are picky eaters. For example, they refuse to eat vegetables and/or fruits, or they are unwilling to try new foods.

Others are more severe food avoiders. For example, they refuse to eat anything other than chicken nuggets or pasta. And some are little eaters. They are not eating enough food each day. It may seem that they are never hungry, pushing food around on the plate and barely putting any in their mouth.

You may also be concerned that your child is not gaining the weight he/she should be.

Wondering how skinny is too skinny? We know making sure that he/she gets all the nutrients he/she needs is not such an easy task. That’s why we developed a convenient online nutrition tool—the Personalised Nutritional Assessment—, so that you are able to assess where he/she stands in terms of nutrition and growth.

Please note that this tool is designed for early detection of children at risk of developing malnutrition
and who fall off the growth curve.

Step 1

Principle of the Personalised Nutritional Assessment (PNA)

The tool is for parents concerned about their child being at risk of malnutrition or faltering growth.

The purpose of the PNA is to capture a nutritional assessment of your child via a survey, and elaborate a nutritionally balanced diet if necessary. Personalised tips are provided to improve regular diet.

Please note that this tool is not a substitute for medical advice. The tool respects data privacy and confidentiality policies.
